The Piedmont Triad Livable Community Photo Contest is a project to promote and raise awareness of the Piedmont Triad Sustainable Communities Project. The 12-county regional plan will promote sustainable communities, highlighting the great things already happening in our region and helping communities develop or implement plans to grow or revitalize. This competition is open to amateur and professional photographers of any age, and is seeking photos that capture livability and sustainability in the Piedmont Triad.

The contest will include Images from 3 categories:

1) Economy (job creation and training, new investment in our community, or anything that depicts economic opportunity in the Triad)

2) Environment (how the natural environment contributes to our livability, examples of incorporating “Green” concepts in new development, or anything that depicts sustainable practices related to the environment)

3) Community (sustainable activities such as farmers markets, recycling, or use of public transit, images of the built environment that lend to building community, or anything that shows the Triad as a great place to live).

Photos need to be taken in the 12-County Region (Alamance, Davidson, Davie, Caswell, Forsyth, Guilford, Montgomery, Rockingham, Randolph, Yadkin, Surry, and Stokes).

What To Enter: Only JPG submissions at 72dpi will be accepted for preliminary judging. If selected for display, a higher resolution (300dpi) will be requested. Entrants are asked to upload digital images (limit of 3 per person), along with name, address and telephone number, to info@triadsustainability.org by May 4th, 2012. Please indicate which category you are submitting for and county the photo was taken in.

There will be a grand prize winner from each category and a prize winner from each of the 12 Counties! Winners will be revealed at the final event in May!
